Interactive Biosphere Garden

We’re thrilled to announce that we have received a 2024 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for our project: Interactive Biosphere Garden. The students and teachers are looking forward to getting their hands dirty and learning from this project.

The aim of our project is to create a sustainable biosphere garden that introduces local native flora, aligning with the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.

Over the next few months our children will be involved in working with local experts to investige and identify local flora, learning Noongar-Wudjari names for plants, planning, designing and constructing the garden.

This will include an excursion to our local Fitzgerald River National Park hosted by our National Park Rangers, Science, Design and Technology lessons to plan, design and construct the garden, and engaging local indigenous artist and former student Mr Jy Bennell to create our garden sign.

You can find the garden located outside of the schools wet area. We look forward to keeping you updated throughout the journey!
