Welcome to Term 1 2012

The first Term at Hopetoun Primary School  welcomes new staff and many new families to our school community. The structure of the school with nine classes from kindergarten through to Year 7 has taken into consideration the predicted growth of school numbers this year.

All children have been busy settling into their new classes and have been involved in a range of activities and events.

In addition to literacy and numeracy activities, we have had visits from Marco the Poet, Squash Magic, and Bouncing Around and interactive workshops with the local police.  We are also excited to have been able to provided interm swimming lessons at the beach this year, for the first time in many years.

Our school community has recently held a P&C Annual General Meeting and all positions have been filled and fundraising events discussed.  It seems clear from the vibrant discussion that the P&C will be enormously supportive of education of Hopetoun children in 2012. The School Council nominations have been called for and filled, so that this important and influential group will be planning their first meeting shortly.
